Infamous Word of the Year for 2018: “Single-Use”

Dec 27, 2018 | Consumption, Enviro-Consciousness, Plastic, Pollution, Waste

We design the world we want to live in.

Our products are a result of human ingenuity.

Design that places ‘no value’ on the environment looks like single-use packaging.

We live in holistic systems of interconnection. Even the *smallest thing like packaging connects with larger systems of transportation pathways; agricultural practices; labor practices; health practice; global or local economies; etc.

We can equally design systems that value the environment and value local livelihoods and the well-being of local citizens (not packaged-processed-ill health foods).

We can create a better world together.

May 2019 be a year to be rid of single-use packaging and single-use ideas.
