As a Fulbright Research Fellow during Ph.D. dissertation research, researched on plastic waste management and subsequent plastic pollution in Sri Lanka. Delved into policy and the socio-political dynamics that can stewarded governance and cultural norms to minimize waste. Research included 13months of field research, as well as collaborative projects with local stakeholders such as trainings; awareness projects; education; waste sorts; and publications. Created a curriculum on ‘Understanding plastic waste in Sri Lanka’ for community college students (globally) through the American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies (AISLS).
