What I find incredulous about this congratulatory article about France, is the lack of discussion about WHERE this electricity is going to come from and WHAT is going to be done with all the old model cars? How are these loops of materials and resources being conceptualized? France currently uses 80% nuclear and -frankly – puts all of Europe at risk. Does this mean now 100% nuclear to fuel the overhaul to electric cars?? How does the drive to produce more and more new private vehicles affect global resource flows, and continued environmental and social degradation? Fixing one problem while creating 10 more is not a ‘solution.’ There needs to be deeper discussions on these issues…..
