The bane of plastic packaging

Jun 29, 2017 | Consumption, EcoJustice, Enviro-Consciousness, Plastic, Pollution, Waste

In just 10 min I picked up over 30 plastic pieces.
fragments from items it only took people a few minutes to use and discard, modern conveniences that will last for decades to come..the irony of using something to save time, that in the end costs the earth a lot of time…
The saddest irony though, is that each piece of plastic can potentially be ingested over and over again by animals over generations, the animal dies and decomposes, the plastic does not, and in the death of the animal the plastic re-enters the food chain, ready to be re-ingested over and over again for the coming generations….like a reoccuring circle of negative karmic rebirths

Nearly 100% of human history, we have gotten by just fine without harmful plastic-packaged everything [to be more exact: plastics have been around for approx. .00055% of human existence and yet look at the damage!] It’s time to rethink our behavior, redesign how we produce and consume, and shift policies to get on a sustainable pathway ~
