Becoming plastic, through everything in modern life

Mar 11, 2017 | Enviro-Consciousness, Plastic, Pollution

Endocrine disruptors aka plastic everything is no joke. Consumer society has come so far from what it means to be human, to be integrated in the natural life cycles. Plastic is entering foodchains and we are absorbing toxic chemicals from these plastics. If we don’t connect the dots now, we may be plasticizing ourselves out of existence. What can be done and how can we keep ourselves healthy and protected from this onslaught of plastics?  Avoids plastics as much as possible, including food or drinks that have touched plastic or been heated in plastic (avoid the microwave!). Eat organic to avoid pesticide residues. Also be cognizant of receipts – like from bars and restaurants, ATMs, gas stations, travel receipts for reimbursement – these all are coated with harmful chemicals that rub off when touched. It may seem like a lot – or even too much to think about considering the prevalence of harmful materials – but here is a helpful starter guide:    https://www.ewg.org/consumer-guides
